The carrier, based in Houston, said it flew 619 million revenue passenger miles last month, compared with 516 million in the same month a year earlier. A revenue passenger mile is an industry metric recording one paying passenger flown one mile.

Available seat miles, or capacity, totaled 825 million in February, a 12 percent increase from 735 million in February 2009.

Load factor, or occupancy, improved to 75.1 percent from 70.2 percent.

Last month, ExpressJet operated an average of 208 aircraft as Continental Express and an average of 16 aircraft as United Express.

Due to the severe winter weather, it canceled 2,050 flights for weather and air traffic control reasons within its Continental Express and United Express operations.
