American Airlines Load Factor Climbs 4 Percent - American Eagle Loads and Passengers Increase

American Airlines filled 83 percent of its seats in October, a strong four-point jump from October 2008.

American’s transatlantic routes saw a 6.6-point climb in load factors, to 83.8 percent. Latin America was up 4.2 points to 80.4 percent, Pacific fell 0.3 points to 80.3 percent. On domestic routes, the load factor increased 3.6 points to 83.8 percent.

American Eagle, American Airlines’ regional subsidiary, reported a 6.2 percent jump in traffic, with the regional carrier recording 680 million revenue passenger miles, up from 641 million revenue passenger miles a year earlier. American Eagle's load factor increased 3.7 points to 73.3 percent.

In October, 1.68 million passengers boarded American Eagle jets, up from 1.57 million a year earlier.
